There are a lot of tourist and local Indonesian looking for a beautiful place to spend time to relax and enjoy free time, such as place like Raja Ampat. It has some tourism objects which can help the tourist to know how to do trips on this island. Raja Ampat placed on the island of West Papua, it is located in east part of Indonesia. Raja Ampat near to Sorong city, a city that one of cities part from West Papua Province. Raja Ampat is an island which form by archipelago, located on the north of sorong city and it is territorial bordered with Philippine Island. The center city of Raja Ampat name Waisai, also a place for transited from the tourists who were and are going to there. Because the form of this island is archipelago that is why the tourism objects are divided into some places which location far enough and need transportation to get it, sea transportation like boat and it is also need fuel cost. Actually, in Waisai have several tourism objects and also the accommodations for rest. Raja Ampat also a place that most looked up by the local and domestic tourism as destination to be visited, it has a lot of exotic and beautiful places such as white beach, islands, transparently blue ocean, kind of unique fish, humble and friendly local people, there are several new kind of fish were and still going to be found at Raja Ampat Island as the new discovery for tourism attraction. 


How To Get There?

When you have an idea to visit Raja Ampat, you need to know how to get there and everything you need to apply to gets your vacation going well. There are two ways to do if you want to go to raja ampat, the air, land and sea transportation. The first one is by the flight/plane; the second is by the sea boat.

·   If you are Domestic tourist:

You just need to prepare well your documents which regarding to the trip, your finance and some kind to wear along your trip. About the ticket, you only get to the airport or can be booked a ticket from the website on the internet service like, www.Traveloka.com. Then choose ticket for plane flight if you want to trip by flight or another one by the ship, depend on your pleasure and finance. 

·   If you are International tourist:

You automatically will transit at Jakarta, mother city of Indonesia or the second transited place will be at Bali city or other International airport in Indonesia that will let you to get your visa or another important document before you start the trip. Prepare your all important documents such as passport, Visa, ID card, money cash and ATM, Then what you need to do is, going to ask or check airport flight information about the flight straight to Sorong city or a straight flight to Raja Ampat and do not forget to change your money into Indonesia currency money Rupiah. there will a money changer office at the airport. 

a.  Air Transportation 

You can be helped by a website which recommended by me, it named Traveloka. This site will give you an easily to book your flight by plane, your train ticket and also about the accommodation such as hotels.

1. Your flight destination: fill up your departure and arrival flight city codes
2. Flight time: Fill up the date you will departure and the second one is about one way or go and back flight (package flight two ways, go and back with the same airline flight)
3.Find the ticket: fill up the passenger quantity (any infant, children and adult, you can choose on the columns) then click on cari tiket “Find ticket”
It will automatically show up you some of the airlines flight with the explanation based on what you filled before, then you just need to read, following the next order, do the payment and save your ticket flight code to show at the airport afterwards.


You can manage and changes the languages in this traveloka site by choose the Indonesian flag to change the language into English then about the currency you can also change into your own money currency from IDR to your own money from your country. 



 After your flight documents already fixed then you just have to check-in and wait for your flight to sorong city by transited at some airport which accepting International flight from Singapore, etc and also which serve for the flight straight to Sorong city or Raja Ampat. Your airport transit is upon on your plane flight schedule and it could be transited at 1 or 2 places on your flight ahead to Sorong and it is also will take a lot of hours in transit timing.

b. Sea Transportation


Before start your trip with the sea transportation, there are two kinds of tourist and flight transit place. IF your flight transited in Jakarta or IF you are local tourist both of you can following this way to get to Raja Ampat by land transport like bus and train first, you should reach Surabaya city to get your sea ship. Your journeys just begin to Surabaya then Sorong and Raja Ampat. All decision by you, want to flight or ship?

By Train, There are many of sea ports in Indonesia which connecting each other but the best way to get reach raja ampat as fast as soon is, Surabaya sea port. If you arrived in Jakarta then you should go to get train ticket first. You will have a long trip with the train from Jakarta to Surabaya city about 9 hours 20 minutes if you want it. There are three types of train tickets, economy give you cheap price, business take you middle price and executive class offering expensive price. I suggest you to get the business or executive class for your comfortable journey, so will be a sleep well on your way to Surabaya. The ticket price started approximately from IDR485.000,- for executive class and the economy price counted from IDR100.000,- but sometimes the prices will be changed to be more cheapest or expensive. There are two train stations in Jakarta, Senen and Gambir station. If you want to trip with save your money, you better go to Senen station because there you will able to get the economy, business and executive class ticket, all is available to book but the other one, Gambir station is offering you an executive or business class ticket only. So there would be a different between those stations. So you are freely to choose what you desire for, the expensive or the cheapest into your trip?
        

  • Surabaya - Sorong City Harbor

      By Ship, Afterwards when you step out your feet on surabaya city, take all your things then go to find the pelni office, pelni office is an office that service and help the client which want to use the sea transportation. You can get your own sea ship ticket at there or the online way, as what I already wrote down at the head page before, you are able to book the tickets by open the traveloka website or if you want to walk around Surabaya city before go to pelni office it is all   depend on you but the fast way to get ticket you can do it by online which visit the site I suggested to make your thing goes easy. Most of the Pelni office located closed to the ship harbour so that make you can book then wait or go straight into the ship and count four time to arrive at Sorong City, Papua province. You will spend view days on the ship around three days two night or it could be more 1 day only, after then you are arrived in Sorong city for see up the next tour to Raja Ampat Island.

At Sorong City, West Papua Province

Arrived here, in Sorong. A city will connecting you straight to beautiful Raja Ampat Island, little paradise you desired to visit. Elsewhere you get this city by flight or ship, the important thing is you are getting close to your destination. There are 2 options transport you can join to flight by plane to waisai or by ship? You can choice one of them.

Make sure your luggages are there and afterwards, going to rakyat harbour, local people named it as “pelabuhan rakyat”, it is located in jalan baru, how to get it? You just need to walk out from the airport and there must be some rent car wait for you. if you want to use the local transportation such as yellow taxi or ojek, they are available to serve you.

Be prepared and get your baggages, go down out from the ship and immediatelly go outside of the ship port. There are a lot of rent car and local transportation you will get served, a yellow car or ojek? Pick one of them and make sure your money for the payment after arrived at the pelabuhan rakyat. Before that you can negotiate the price with the ojek driver, your words mean a lot. The other one transportation, yellow car cannot be negotiated because the price already on ruled so prepare IDR5.000,- for the charge/pax. Be cool and hospitable, do not be strained just make it an easily travelling because most of the local people cannot understand english, they are pleasant and good people. But remember, watch your important documents always. 

       

Harbor/airport - Pelabuhan Rakyat Harbor


Ojek
 
Ojek is a motorcycycle which used to bring people with money charge, some of the ojek driver using yellow helmet. It will cost you about IDR30.000,- till IDR50.000,- to bring you to pelabuhan rakyat. The price is negotiationally, your speaks mean.

You have to walk little bit far out If you are from the airport or harbor area, straight to the general road way to get the local transportation and the form of this transportation is coloured yellow, it can be drop up about 8 passenggers. The last time I was there, I paid the charge about IDR5.000,-/pax 

      Pelabuhan Rakyat, Sorong City - Raja Ampat


A small harbor of ships which operated sea transport from Sorong to Raja Ampat, there are few of ships that will bring you to Waisai, the center City of Raja Ampat Island. You have 2 options of the ships to be chosen, the first is fast ship with the price about IDR150.000,- till IDR200.000,- by this ship you will get to Waisai about 45 minutes, and for the leisurely trip that will cost you IDR100.000,- up to IDR125.000,-. This ship will take you Waisai about 3 or 4 hours more. On your way by the sip to Waisai, Raja Ampat you will enjoy the scenery of the ocean between sorong and Raja Ampat Island. There will be some of the dolphin, shark or the big one whales which going to show up, they are across the ocean to do the migration from the old place to another, but it is only when you are on lucky day you then can see them.   

DEO Airport, Sorong – Marinda Airport, Raja Ampat

There is also an option for you to take a flight from sorong to waisai straightly and fast, time duration flight about 30 minutes or more. The price start from IDR 300.000,-  the price is able to be checked at Traveloka wesbite or you can book the flight next to the airport ticketing.

In Waisai, Raja Ampat recently years before, there is an airport built, Raja Ampat. But not finished yet at all. Since it was build and operated, the airport only accepting and working with the small flight/plane from wings airlines and there is not big plane operated  yet caused by the facilities and things just not supported  yet at the airport, but it still operated and as far it is working well.

Waisai, Sorong, And Yogyakarta Monday Morning, When everyone were sleep, I woke up and packing the things I will bring on my way back to Yogyakarta, my watch already wacthed me at the 05.30am. Waisai, Raja Ampat "Visit Hometown"

Early Morning At Pantai WTC (Waisai Kitorang Cinta) Waisai Town, Raja Ampat Silent and cold weather makes me up in the morning, It was about 4.30am, I woke up, make some cofee to drink then I thought about the sunrise, I got an idea to visit a place which close to my living place. I prepared my camera tools and iphone as my documentation requirements, afterwards I went to Pantai WTC by walk while enjoyed the morning atmosphere. arrived at the location of Pantai WTC, I saw around and there are some of old people were walk surrounding me.
